That Golden Glow

For those of you who appreciate that 'last glow' of the day, Image

you'll be amazed at the number of opportunities along the beaches in Ludington...

We are so fortunate, in Ludington, to have a wide variety of locations for viewing the perfect sunset.  There are a number of areas, each having its own vantage point.

Ludington Avenue ends at the Lake where it opens up to a large parking lot; often filled with cars for sunset viewing, many people stay in their vehicle while others get out and walk up to the beach front.

That same beach front also has a long pier, the North Pier, that juts out into the lake.  The North Pier has a wide walkway and a beacon light at its end.  If you take the walk out the Pier, this gives you the advantage of being surrounded by water as you view the sunset.  The reflection mirrored in the water is magic!

A three mile drive out of town brings you to what we call 'the first curve'.  Here, the land begins a gentle curve north toward Ludington State Park and Big Sable Point Lighthouse.  Away from city lights and traffic, there are numerous paved parking areas, in between the sand dunes, that are just perfect for sunset viewing from your car or a quiet walk along the beach.
