Michigan's Streamside Journal Pere Marquette Watershed Council Flygirls Lake Michigan Charter Fishing Nothing beats Lake Michigan charter fishing from Ludington. More fish are caught from Ludington than any other Michigan port. The season kicks off in April with the arrival of big Brown Trout in shallow, inshore water. May means early season King and Chinook Salmon. June brings big catches of Lake Trout. Come July and August big, battling Steelhead, King and Coho Salmon are at their peak.
